Apply corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound to 12 screws (25) (para
2-6). Use class 1A application. Apply to
each screw just before installing.
CAUTION
• Use care not to damage seal when installing
the day sensor shroud support assembly; a
crushing sound will indicate that the seal is
bending.
• Day sensor shroud support assembly
screws must be installed and torqued in the
order indicated (circled numbers) to prevent
damage to seal.
• Some configurations use hi-torque screws at
positions 5 and 13. Do not replace with
capscrews as chafing of wire harness may
occur.
m. Position day sensor shroud support
assembly and install screws (25) with
washers (26) in the order illustrated in
mounting positions 1 thru 12. Tighten
screws until snug.
n. Prepare surfaces at mounting positions 13
and 14 for electrical bonding (para 2-7).
o. Assemble mounting hardware for bonding
strap assemblies (19) installation. Order of
assembly is as follows: mounting screw
(20), lockwasher (21), small washer (22),
bonding strap terminal lug(s) (19), and
large washer (23).
p. Install bonding strap assemblies with
mounting hardware in mounting positions
13 and 14. Tighten screws until snug.
