INSPECTION
Visually inspect fuel sending unit mounting security, gasket for leaks, wiring for breaks or corrosion and
components for damage affecting serviceability.
END OF TASK
TEST
1. Remove fuel level sending unit, see removal this work package.
2. Ohms test the fuel level sending unit from (Figure 1, Item 2) to ground (Figure 1, Item 1) with loat
(Figure 1, Item 3) in the position illustrated (fuel tank empty).
3. Resistance measured should be 240 ohms nominally (Keep the meter in the test position).
4. Raise the loat (Figure 1, Item 3) while observing the meter.
5. Resistance measured should consistently decrease (no dead spots) until the loat is in the highest position.
6. With the loat in the highest position (tank full) resistance measured should read 33.5 ohms nominally.
7. Replace fuel sending unit if ohms test fails.
