4-45. LASER ELECTRONICS UNIT (LEU) HARNESS ASSEMBLY W1 REPAIR (cont)
8. FILTER FL3, FL4, FL7 THRU FL9, FL11, OR
FL13 THRU FL18 REPLACEMENT
NOTE
This procedure is for replacing filter FL3 and
can also be used to replace filters FL4, FL7
thru FL9, FL11, or FL13 thru FL18.
REMOVAL
a. Remove LEU harness assembly W1 (1
above).
b. Slide sleeving (1) to access solder joint on
filter FL3 (2). Remove spot ties and clamps
as necessary.
c. Tag and unsolder wires (3) to filter FL3 (2).
d. Remove nut (4) and washer (5) securing
filter FL3 (2) to filter bank (6) and remove
filter FL3 (2).
INSTALLATION
e. Remove old sealing, locking, and retaining
compound from filter bank (para 2-6).
f. Apply sealing, locking, and retaining
compound to new filter (2) (para 2-6).
g. Install new filter (2) in filter bank (4).
h. Solder wires (3) to filter (2) and remove
tags.

Lightly tug on wire to check that wire
contact holds.
j.
Place wire in bundle. Secure harness
assembly using spot ties and clamps. Slide
sleeving (1) over filter (2).
