6-1. INTRODUCTION
This chapter provides instructions for preparation for use and maintenance of TADS peculiar
ground support handling equipment. Also included are instructions for preparations for storage.
6-2. DOLLY TRUCK ASSEMBLY
a. PURPOSE
The dolly truck assembly is used for supporting the TADS turret assembly for transport and
maintenance. Additionally, the dolly truck assembly is provided with an adapter assembly that, when
mounted to the dolly truck assembly, provides mounting support for the TADS optical relay tube (ORT)
assembly.
b. DESCRIPTION
The dolly truck assembly consists of a base assembly mounted on four caster wheels, a frame
assembly, and four hinged bracket assemblies. When configured for use, the frame assembly is raised
vertically and fixed in position by the bracket assemblies. When not in use, the dolly truck assembly can
be collapsed for storage. Eyebolts attached to the base assembly provide lift points for the unloaded
dolly truck assembly.
