4-45. LASER ELECTRONICS UNIT (LEU) HARNESS ASSEMBLY W1 REPAIR (cont)
6. FILTER FL1, FL2, FL5, OR FL6
REPLACEMENT
NOTE
This procedure is for replacing filter FL1 and
can also be used for replacing filters FL2, FL5,
and FL6.
REMOVAL
a. Remove LEU harness assembly W1 (1
above).
b. Slide sleeving (1) to access solder joint on
filter FL1 (2). Remove spot ties and clamps
as necessary.
c. Tag and unsolder wires (3) to filter FL1 (2).
d. Remove nut (4) and washer (5) securing
filter FL1 (2) to filter bank (6) and remove
filter FL1 (2).
INSTALLATION
e. Remove old sealing, locking, and retaining
compound from hardware (para 2-6).
f. Apply sealing, locking, and retaining
compound to new filter (2) and hardware
(para 2-6).
g. Install new filter (2) in filter bank (6) with
washer (5) and nut (4).
h. Solder wires (3) to filter (2) and remove
tags.
i.
Lightly tug on wire to check that wire
contact holds.
