ELAPSED TIME INDICATOR (ETI) OR COVER REPLACEMENTNOTEElapsed time indicator ETI is being eliminated and replaced by a cover. This procedure applies only to an HOD built with ETI or cover installed. If ETI is located in the HOD, perform ETI removal and cover installation below. If ETI is removed and cover is installed, do not perform this procedure.REMOVALa. Remove HOD cover assembly (1), by loosening six captive screws (2).b. Disconnect connector P3 (3)by loosening two screwlocks (4). Move connector P3 out of way.c. Remove connector J3 (5)by loosening two captive screws (6). Move connector J3 out of way.d. Remove elapsed time indicator ETI (7)or cover (step i below) by removing two locknuts (8), washers (9), spacers (10), and screws (11).e. Unsolder wires (12)from elapsed time indicator ETI.f. Insulate unsoldered wires (12) using insulation sleeving. Ensure that tubing extends a minimum of 0.25 inch beyond ends of wires.g. Secure Insulated wires (12)to adjacent wiring or chassis using lacing and tying tape.h. Discard elapsed time indicator ETI (11)in accordance with TM 1-1270-476-23P. Retain mounting hardware for cover installation.
