DISASSEMBLY
Remove the two nuts (Figure 1, Item 5), at washers (Figure 1, Item 4) and bolts (Figure 1, Item 2) securing

the actuating cap (Figure 1, Item 3) to the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6) and remove the actuating cap.
Remove the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6) from the actuating assembly (Figure 1, Item 1).

Remove the lock assembly (Figure 1, Item 7) from the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6).
3.
Remove the bushing (Figure 1, Item 9) from the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14).
4.
Remove the retaining ring (Figure 1, Item 8) from the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6).

Remove the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14) from the actuating cylinder (Figure 1, Item 1) and remove the

retaining ring (Figure 1, Item 10), piston (Figure 1, Item 12) and O-Ring (Figure 1, Item 13) from the rod.
Remove the O-Ring (Figure 1, Item 11) from the piston.

Is combustible and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Wear protective gloves and
goggles/face shield. Avoid repeated or prolonged contact. Use only in well ventilated areas
(or use approved respirator as determined by local safety/industrial hygiene personnel). Keep
away from open ames or other sources of ignition.
Clean all metal parts with Cleaning Compound, Solvent, and dry thoroughly.
TEST AND INSPECTION
1.
Inspect the rod assembly packings for scores or damaged condition. Replace a bent rod assembly.
2.
Inspect the piston rod bushing and piston for nicks or scratches. Polish out any small nicks or scratches.
3.
Inspect the shell and sleeve assemblies for scratches or scoring. Polish out any small nicks or scratches.
4.
Replace any defective parts.
ASSEMBLY
1.
Install the O-Ring (Figure 1, Item 13) on the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14).
2.
Install the O-Ring (Figure 1, Item 11) on the piston (Figure 1, Item 12). Install the piston (Figure 1, Item 12) on
the on the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14) and secure with retaining ring (Figure 1, Item 10).
3.
Lubricate the piston and rod assembly with Hydraulic Fluid, Petroleum Based, and install in the actuating
cylinder (Figure 1, Item 1).
4.
Install the bushing (Figure 1, Item 9) on the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14).
5.
Install the retaining ring (Figure 1, Item 8) in the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6).
6.
Install the lock assembly (Figure 1, Item 7) on the sleeve assembly.
7.
Install the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6) over the rod assembly (Figure 1, Item 14) and actuating cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 1).
8.
Install the actuating cap (Figure 1, Item 3) in the sleeve assembly (Figure 1, Item 6) and secure with the two
bolts (Figure 1, Item 2), washers (Figure 1, Item 4), and nuts (Figure 1, Item 5).
