REMOVAL
1.
Remove the two bolts (WP 0012 00, Figure 1, Item 2) and nuts securing the handrail (WP 0012 00, Figure
1, Item 7) to the platform (WP 0012 00, Figure 1, Item 23) and to the base assembly (WP 0012 00, Figure 1,
Item 10) and remove the handrail.
2.
Remove the other handrail in the same manner.

CLEANING SOLVENT MIL-PRF-680
Is combustible and toxic to eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. Wear protective gloves and
goggles/face shield. Avoid repeated or prolonged contact. Use only in well ventilated areas
(or use approved respirator as determined by local safety/industrial hygiene personnel). Keep
away from open ames or other sources of ignition.
Wash the parts in Cleaning Compound, Solvent.
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
1.
Weld a cracked handrail.
2.
Replace a defective handrail.
TEST AND INSPECTION
Inspect handrails for cracks, excessive looseness, and pinch points.
INSTALLATION
1.
Position the handrail on the platform (WP 0012 00, Figure 1, Item 23) and base assembly (WP 0012 00,
Figure 1, Item 10) and secure with two bolts (WP 0012 00, Figure 1, Item 2 and 8) and nuts.
2.
Install the other handrail in the same manner.
