4-29. CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY 2A1 REPAIR (cont)
8. SWITCH S7 OR S8 REPLACEMENT
NOTE
This procedure is for replacing switch S8 (1)
and can also be used for replacing switch S7
(5).
REMOVAL
a. Remove HOD assembly (1 above).
b. Remove switch S8 (1) by loosening screw
(2) on clamp assembly (3) and sliding
clamp assembly off switch.
c. Cut lacing and tying tape as necessary to
provide enough wire slack for component
replacement.
d. Tag and unsolder wires.
INSTALLATION
e. Solder wire leads (4) to replacement switch
S8 (1) and remove tags.
f. Install switch S8 (1).
(1) Aline switch keyway.
(2) Position clamp assembly (3) keyway
over boss on body of switch (1).
(3) Apply corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound on mating surface of
screw (2) and clamp assembly (3).
(4) Position clamp assembly (3) flush
against housing while keeping pin in
notch and tighten screw (2).
g. Install lacing and tying tape as required to
secure wire bundle.
h. Have installation inspected.
i. Install HOD assembly (1 above).
