19. RUBBER PAD REPLACEMENT
NOTE
This procedure is for replacing any of the
rubber pads on the preamplifier cover.
REMOVAL
a. Remove preamplifier cover (1 above).
b. Remove damaged rubber pad (1) by cutting
or scraping with a knife.
INSTALLATION
c. Remove old silicone rubber adhesive (para
2-6).
d. Apply silicone rubber adhesive to
preamplifier cover and new pad (para 2-6).
e. Allow adhesive to air dry for 30 to 60
minutes.
f. Position pad (1) on cover (2) and press
firmly to squeeze out excess adhesive and
trapped air.
CAUTION
Do not apply solvent during trimming and
clean up. Solvents may wick into adhesive
joint and damage bond.
g. Trim excess adhesive with clean, sharp
knife.
h. Tape pad (1) to preamplifier cover (2) until
cured (para 2-6), then remove tape.
i. Install preamplifier cover (1 above).
