TADS TURRET ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT (cont)WARNINGHEAVY LOAD• Danger: Heavy load suspended above work area.• Don’t: Walk, stand, or work under objects suspended by the crane.• Don’t use universal sling assemblies with an expired load test safety tag.• Slippage of suspended objects can cause serious injury or death.CAUTION• Careless handling of turret assembly during replacement can damage the turret assembly and helicopter.• Ensure that assistant steadies the turret assembly and controls its travel at all times during replacement.NOTEPerform special inspection No. 36 in accordance with TM 1-1520-238-20.17. Install replacement turret assembly (45).a. Lift replacement turret assembly (45) to nose of helicopter.b. Aline two alinement pins with matchingholes in helicopter bulkhead.c. Push replacement turret assembly (45) into place.CAUTIONWashers must be installed properly. Improper installation can cause damage to equipment.d. Install washers (47) on bolts (46) with bevel on washers facing head of bolts. Install four bolts (46) and washers (47). Torque to 120 in-lb, starting with upper left bolt and working in a clockwise direction.e. Disconnect universal sling assembly and move lifting device from work area.
