CREW PROTECTION SYSTEM (CPS) DOOR HANDLE - (CONTINUED)
Outer Door Handle
1. Remove four screws (Figure 1, Item 5) and four nuts (Figure 1, Item 12).
2. Remove outer door handle (Figure 1, Item 2).

INSTALLATION
Outer Door Handle
1. Position outer door handle (Figure 1, Item 2) in door with latch mechanism facing to the rear.
2. Install four screws (Figure 1, Item 5) and four nuts (Figure 1, Item 12).
Door Rod Linkage
1. Position inner handle (Figure 1, Item 6) in closed position (full forward).
2. Place linkage rod (Figure 1, Item 11) up through inboard side of outer door handle (Figure 1, Item 2) and
secure with lat washer (Figure 1, Item 3) and nut (Figure 1, Item 4).
3. Loosen retaining nut (Figure 1, Item 10) from clevis end of linkage rod and adjust clevis (Figure 1, Item 8) as
necessary to install on inner handle (Figure 1, Item 6).
4. Install clevis pin (Figure 1, Item 9) through clevis (Figure 1, Item 8) and inner door handle and secure with
cotter pin (Figure 1, Item 7).
5. Tighten retaining nut (Figure 1, Item 10) and check inner and outer door handles for proper operation.

ADJUSTMENT
NOTE
If latch mechanism of door does not reach door latch striker plate, adjust striker plate as follows:
1.
Loosen two bolts (Figure 1, Item 13) and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 1) securing door latch striker plate
(Figure 1, Item 14) to rear of CPS cab.
2.
Install door latch striker shims (Figure 1, Item 15) behind door latch striker plate as needed and tighten two
bolts (Figure 1, Item 13) and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 1).
