SERVICE BRAKES TROUBLESHOOTING - (CONTINUED)

MALFUNCTION - BRANCH 2.

MALFUNCTION - Performance is inadequate.

ACTION

2. Perform brake friction disc replacement procedures (WP 0077 and WP 0078).

END OF TEST

TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

BRAKE FAIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED

BRANCH 1.

Inspect front and rear brake system for leaks (WP 0080, WP 0082 and WP 0084).

CONDITION/INDICATION

Is brake luid leaking?

DECISION

YES Repair defective brake system components (WP 0080, WP 0082 and WP 0084).

NO Proceed to Step 2.

BRANCH 2.

Ohms test normally open brake fail switch (BFS) (WP 0082) for no continuity (FO-1, Line 24).

CONDITION/INDICATION

Did brake fail switch ohms test satisfactory?

DECISION

YES Replace brake valve assembly (WP 0082).

NO Proceed to Step 3.

MALFUNCTION - BRANCH 3.

MALFUNCTION - Brake fail switch ohms test unsatisfactory.

ACTION

3. Replace brake fail switch (WP 0082).

END OF TEST

TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE

BRAKE STOP LIGHTS ALWAYS ILLUMINATED WITH ENGINE RUNNING
