5.
Attach leg braces (Figure 1, Item 21), four required, to each leg and main frame, using nuts, bolts and
washers.
6.
Attach platform bar (Figure 1, Item 20) to forward leg (Figure 1, Item 23). Attach tow bars (Figure 1, Item 18
and 19) to platform bar (Figure 1, Item 20.) and forward leg (Figure 1, Item 23), using nuts, bolts and washers.
7.
Position ladder (Figure 1, Item 6) on rear leg (Figure 1, Item 22). Attach with 4 bolts. Attach ladder brace
(Figure 1, Item 4) to side of ladder and rear leg using bolt at each end.
8.
Position lower mount on cylinder (Figure 1, Item 15) to mounting bracket on outside scissor (Figure 1, Item
16). Install bolt through mounts. Do not tighten. Swing cylinder (Figure 1, Item 15) into position and attach
cylinder ram to inside scissor (Figure 1, Item 17). Install second bolt. Tighten both bolts.
9.
Slide upper ladder (Figure 1, Item 3) down through ladder guides on lower ladder (Figure 1, Item 6) and
attach upper ladder to platform floor plate (Figure 1, Item 14).
10. Install pump handle (Figure 1, Item 9) on pump assembly (Figure 1, Item 8).
11. Slide side rails (Figure 1, Item 1) and end rail (Figure 1, Item 2) into guides on platform floor plate (Figure 1,
Item 14).
PRESERVICE INSPECTION
Inspect the assembled maintenance platform for the following:
1.
General alignment and securing all components and attaching hardware.
2.
Hydraulic line and fittings secure and free of leaks.
3.
Roller channels and ladder guides free of any foreign material.
PRESERVATIVE OIL REMOVAL

1.
Place suitable container, one quart or larger, under cylinder assembly (Figure 1, Item 15).
2.
Disconnect hydraulic hose (Figure 1, Item 7) at lower end of cylinder assembly (Figure 1, Item 15).
3.
Close release valve lever (Figure 1, Item 27).
4.
Open pump reservoir vent (Figure 1, Item 28).
5.
Operate pump handle (Figure 1, Item 9) to thoroughly purge system of preservative oil.
6.
After all preservative oil is removed, connect hose (Figure 1, Item 7) at lower end of cylinder assembly (Figure
1, Item 15). Fill to within 1/2 inch of top with Hydraulic Fluid, Fire Resistant.
7.
Prior to using the platform, perform WP 0011 00, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS).
