7. ELAPSED TIME INDICATOR DS1 OR
COVER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL
NOTE
Elapsed time indicator DS1 is being eliminated
and replaced by a cover. This procedure
applies only to a TEU built with DS1 or cover
installed.
a. Remove cover (1 above).
b. Remove elapsed time indicator DS1 (1) or
cover (2) by removing two nuts (3), four
washers (4), and two screws (5).
c. Unsolder wires (6) from elapsed time
indicator DS1 (1).
d. Insulate unsoldered wires (6) using
insulation sleeving. Ensure that sleeving
extends a minimum of 0.25 inch beyond
ends of wires.
e. Secure insulated wires (6) to adjacent
wiring or chassis using lacing and tying
tape.
f. Discard elapsed time indicator DS1 (1) in
accordance with TM 1-1270-476-23P.
Retain mounting hardware for cover
installation.
INSTALLATION
g. Remove old corrosion Inhibitive sealing and
coating compound from mounting hardware
and faying surfaces (para 2-6).
