7. INDEX PLATE AND SPRING OR HOUSING
REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL
CAUTION
Components inside the RHG contain
electrostatic discharge sensitive (ESDS)
devices. Refer to paragraph 2-8 for handling
requirements before starting this task to
prevent damage.
NOTE
• Perform steps a through c and g through i for
removal of LHG index plate or steps d
through i for removal of RHG index plate.
• Do not disconnect P2 connector from J2
connector when removing left or right
handgrip CCA.
a. Remove LHG switches (steps 1 through 6
above).
b. Remove LHG CCA and attached P2 cable
assembly (step 5 above). Proceed to step
g.
c. Remove RHG switches (steps 1 through 6
above).
d. Remove RHG CCA and attached P2 cable
assembly (step 7 above).
e. Remove index plate (1) by removing four
screws (2). Discard index plate.
f. Inspect two pins (3) for damage or 1
looseness. Replace housing assembly (4) if
pins (3) are damaged or loose.
g. Remove springs (5) and caps (6) by
separating hand rip (7) and housing
assembly (4). Discard springs (5) and caps
(6).
