6. TOGGLE SWITCH (LHG S3, S6 or S8; RHG
S21) REPLACEMENT
NOTE
This procedure is for replacing switch S3 (1)
and can also be used for replacing:
LHG Switch
S3 (1) N-M-W-Z
S6 (2) RKT-GUN-MSL-ATA
S8 (3) TPM-GTM-RMAP-ATM
RHG Switch
S21 (4) HMD-FCR-TADS-LINK
REMOVAL
a. Rock switch S3 (1) up and down to break
RTV seal, using plier wrench.
CAUTION
Be careful when pulling faulty switch out of
handgrip. Damage to wires could occur.
b. Pull switch out of handgrip.
c. Tag and unsolder wires (5).
INSTALLATION
d. Remove old black RTV from mounting hole
(para 2-6).
e. Solder wires (5) to switch and remove tags.
f. Have installation inspected.
g. Apply black RTV around mounting hole
(para 2-6).
h. Position switch in mounting hole and press
in firmly.
i. Tape switch in place. Leave taped until
black RTV is cured (para 2-6), then remove
tape.
