7. INDEX PLATE AND SPRING OR HOUSING
REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL
CAUTION
Components inside the RHG contain
electrostatic discharge sensitive (ESDS)
devices. Refer to paragraph 2-8 for handling
requirements before starting this task to
prevent damage.
NOTE
Perform step a for removal of LHG index plate
or step b for RHG index plate.
a. Remove LHG CCA (4 above).
b. Remove RHG CCA (6 above).
c. Remove index plate (1) by removing four
screws (2). Discard index plate (1).
d. Inspect two pins (3) for damage or
looseness. Replace housing assembly (4) if
pins (3) are damaged or loose.
e. Remove springs (5) and caps (6) by
separating handgrip (7) and housing
assembly (4). Discard springs (5) and caps
(6).
INSTALLATION
CAUTION
Components inside the RHG contain
electrostatic discharge sensitive (ESDS)
devices. Refer to paragraph 2-8 for handling
requirements before starting this task to
prevent damage.
f. Install new springs (5) and caps (6).
NOTE
• Continuous pressure on handgrip against
housing assembly is required to keep
tension springs seated in handgrip
assembly.
• Ensure index plate is alined with pins on
housing assembly.
g. Install new index plate (1) using four screws
(2).
h. Install LHG or RHG CCA (4 or 6 above).
