4-7. RELAY BRACKET ASSEMBLY REPAIR (cont)
3. CAPACITOR C1, C2, OR C3 REPLACEMENT
NOTE
Terminal posts have other wires attached to
them. To replace capacitor C1, C2, or C3 it
may be necessary to tag and unsolder these
wires.
REMOVAL
a. Tag and unsolder wires from bracket
assembly as follows:
Capacitor
Terminal Post
C1 (1)
E4 (2) and E6 (3)
C2 (4)
E7 (5) and E8 (6)
C3 (7)
E8 (6) and E of
transistor Q1 (8)
Alternate C3 (9)
K1-A1
K1-B1
NOTE
Perform step b only when replacing capacitor
C3 (7 or 9).
b. Remove epoxy adhesive from capacitor C3
(7 or 9) (para 2-6).
c. Remove faulty capacitor.
INSTALLATION
d. Cut replacement capacitor leads to length
required for installation.
e. Install insulation tubing over each capacitor
lead.
f. Solder capacitor leads and other wires to
terminal points as noted in step a. Remove
tags.
NOTE
Perform step g only when installing capacitor
C3; otherwise, go to step h.
g. Secure capacitor C3 (7 or 7A) in place with
epoxy adhesive (para 2-6).
h. Have installation inspected.
