4-7. RELAY BRACKET ASSEMBLY REPAIR (cont)
8. CONNECTOR J1 REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL
a. Remove two screws (1), washers (2),
lockwashers (3), and nuts (4) from
connector (5).
b. Tag wires.
c. Remove old heat shrinkable insulation
sleeving from wires.
d. Remove wires from connector (5) (para
2-5).
e. Remove old corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound from hardware (para
2-6).
INSTALLATION
f. Install heat shrinkable insulation sleeving
on wires.
g. Install wires on replacement connector
(para 2-5).
h. Remove tags.
i.
Position heat shrinkable insulation sleeving
over contacts.
CAUTION
When applying heat to heat shrinkable
insulation sleeving, take care to avoid
damaging other components with excessive
heat.
j.
Using heat gun, shrink heat shrinkable
insulation sleeving around contacts.
k. Apply corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound to hardware (para 2-6).
l.
Secure connector (5) to relay bracket
assembly (6) with two screws (1), washers
(2), lockwashers (3), and nuts (4).
