INSTALLATION
d. Remove old corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound, and sealing, locking
and retaining compound from self-locking
nuts (para 2-6).
e. Apply corrosion inhibitive sealing and
coating compound to two mounting lugs (6)
on replacement relay (para 2-6). Use class
1A application.
NOTE
Do not allow sealing, locking and retaining
compound to come in contact with loop clamp.
f. Apply sealing, locking and retaining
compound to one mounting lug (7) on
replacement relay (para 2-6). Use class 1
application.
g. Install relay K1. Install loop clamp (5) on
outside lug. Secure relay and loop clamp
using three washers (4) and self -locking
nuts (3).
h. Solder jumper (8) between relay K1 pins 1
and 5.
(1) Cut apiece of No. 24 uninsulated wire
about 3 inches long.
(2) Install a short piece of insulation tubing
on wire.
(3) Solder wire between relay K1 pins 1
and 5.
(4) Cut off excess wire.
i. Install a short length of heat shrinkable
electrical insulation on each wire end to be
soldered to relay K1.
j. Solder wires (1) to relay K1 (2) terminals
and remove tags.
k. Have installation inspected.
l. Slide heat shrinkable electrical insulation
over relay K1 terminal and, using heat gun
with reflector, shrink insulation over
terminals.
