5.
Install pump plunger, packing and cylinder (Figure 1, Item 5 and 6), as an assembly into pump housing.
6.
Align pump handle adaptor (Figure 1, Item 4) with mounting boss on pump cover and pump plunger and
install grooved pin (Figure 1, Item 3) and cross pin (Figure 1, Item 1).
7.
Install two retaining rings (Figure 1, Item 2) on ends of grooved pin (Figure 1, Item 3).
INSTALLATION
1.
Position pump assembly (Figure 1, Item 23) on the platform floor and install four retaining bolts.
2.
Connect hydraulic hose to pump assembly.
3.
Fill hydraulic pump assembly to within 1/2 inch of the top of reservoir with Hydraulic Fluid, Fire Resistant.
NOTE
Readjustment of the valve release lever after pump is installed on the platform will be necessary
after removal or repair of release valve.
ADJUSTMENT
Release Valve Adjustment
NOTE
The release valve is adjusted to give a rate of descent of 6 inches per second.
1.
To adjust the rate of descent, turn the lever (Figure 1, Item 11) clockwise 1/2 turn.
2.
Remove screw (Figure 1, Item 9), washer (Figure 1, Item 10), and handle (Figure 1, Item 11). Note the
position of the lever when removed.
3.
Reinstall the lever (Figure 1, Item 11 ) in a counterclockwise direction (if rate of descent is too fast), or a
clockwise direction (if too slow).
4.
Replace washer and screw to secure the handle.
5.
Repeat the procedure until the desired rate of descent is obtained.
