4-5. NIGHT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (NSA) REPAIR (cont)
CAUTION
• Flexible harness is very fragile. Be very
careful not to cut it, make sharp bends, or
chafe it against the cooler/Dewar or the night
sensor assembly chassis.
• Do not try to bend flexible printed harness
unless heated and pliable. Do not overheat.
Too much heat will damage printed cable.
NOTE
• A heat source of approximately 200°F is
best to make harness soft and bend easily.
Holding heat gun approximately 5 inches
from the heat point will usually apply about
200°F.
• The following step requires two people
working together. Read and understand the
step before starting.
ab. Install flexible harness connectors and
preamplifier motherboard (41) in night
sensor assembly. Apply heat with heat gun
near each connector until flex harness is
pliable before bending.
