(UH-1-98-ASAM-03) from 31 December 1998 to 30 June 1999. An additional phase interval is not part of this extension.

a. Inspect aircraft records to determine if T 1-1520-210-20-40 (UH-1-98-ASAM-03) has been complied with. If

records indicate that UH-1-98-ASAM-03 (TB 1-1520-210-20-40) has been complied with, annotate the aircraft records that
this inspection is complete and no further action is required.
b. If the aircraft records do not indicate compliance with TB 1-1520-210-20-40 (UH-1-98-ASAM-03), proceed to
c. Remove the Tail Rotor Control Tube (TM 55-1520-210-23P, figure 145, item 40) IAW the normal maintenance
procedures of TM 55-1520-210-23. Near the center of the tube section of the part, identify the five digit manufacturer's
CAGE code.
NOTE
Many parts will have two different five-digit codes marked on the part. The five-
digit code 81996 is not the manufacturer's CAGE code. If found, 81996 identifies
the part as having been made lAW a government Technical Data Package (TDP).
Use the other five-digit code.
d. If the manufacturer's CAGE code on the Control Tube is 58822, 22524, 27604 or 97499, reinstall IAW normal
maintenance procedures and annotate the aircraft records that the inspection is complete.
NOTE
If the CAGE code on the part cannot be identified, serial numbers with prefixes
"SS29" and "DIFS" are traceable to the above manufacturers and are acceptable.
e. If the manufacturer's CAGE code on the Control Tube is 05056, or anything other than those identified in
paragraph 8.d., or if the CAGE code cannot be determined, proceed with the correction procedures in paragraph 9.
9. Correction Procedures. For Control Tubes with CAGE code 05056, or anything other than those listed in paragraph
8 d, or where the CAGE code cannot be determined, remove the Control Tube from service and dispose of lAW
paragraph 10 d. Install a serviceable part lAW TM 55-1520-210-23, and annotate in the aircraft records that the
inspection is complete.
10. Supply/Parts and Disposition.
a. Parts Required. Items cited in paragraph 7 may be required to replace defective items.
