4-5. NIGHT SENSOR ASSEMBLY (NSA) REPAIR (cont)
k. Apply teflon tape (34) over screwlocks (35)
disconnected in step i to prevent damage to
flexible printed harness.
CAUTION
Do not try to bend flexible printed harness
unless heated and pliable. Do not overheat.
Too much heat will damage printed cable.
NOTE
A heat source of approximately 200°F is best
to make harness soft and bend easily. Holding
heat gun approximately 5 inches from the heat
point will usually apply about 200°F.
l. Apply heat near each of the connectors in
sequence, fold connector A11P2 (29),
A11P3 (30), and A11P4 (31) and wrap in
folded position with teflon tape.
m. Feed flexible harness connectors through
hole in chassis into cooler/Dewar assembly
cavity.
(1) Carefully feed connectors P3 (30) and
P2 (29) up and through the hole.
(2) Carefully feed connectors P1 (28) and
P4 (31) up and through the hole.
